I caught up with one of the hardest working producers on the west coast who goes by the name Dae One out of Hawthorne, CA. He has produced countless tracks for majority of mixtapes coming out of the west coast not to mention he’s part of Bishop Lamont’s (Aftermath/Diocese) camp and now gears up for his latest project, NO ONE, with the talented MC Noni Spitz. The new album is titled ‘The Substance’ and features a steller cast of guest MC’s and Producers.
Check out their new track called “Outside Wit It” featuring Oakland native Balance with Dae One handling production. Turn up the volume… this one is a banger!

Last wednesday night (8/6) marked the opening of Nike’s latest production “Nike Sportswear at The Montalban” in the heart of Hollywood. It also was the West Coast release for Nike’s latest collab called the AF1 Air Questo. In conjunction with 1WORLD and Philly’s Ahmir Thompson or better known ?uestlove the drummer, DJ, producer, innovator and one-quarter of the Legendary The Roots crew, Nike turned the Montalban Theater into a retail experience like no other. Previous 1WORLD designers have been Detroit Piston’s Rasheed Wallace and BK-based artist KAWS.
The Air Questo release had sneakerheads camping out since Sunday evening and coming from all parts of the West Coast. Some came as far as San Fran and Phoenix. They weren’t dissapointed. ?uestlove was in the house and signing every pair. Plus eight lucky winner’s who bought their first set that had a special gold pair won a second pair for free. There was complimentary drinks and snacks then after the pairs sold out, ?uestlove jumped on stage to rock a private one-hour DJ set. We were also treated to a little documentary on the Air Questo project.

After countless hours walking the tradeshow floors these past couple months (those pics coming someday), your guaranteed to see a ton of crap with a few quality surprises thrown in the mix. It’s been a minute now since I last posted… my bad, not enough hours in the day and I forgot my logins. doh! No worries, we’re back up and running. In my attempt to catch up, I’m gonna post some random thoughts and images from the last couple months along with some present cohesiveness and future looks.
